Baybean - Canavalia maritima Baybean (Canavalia maritima) was traditionally smoked on the Gulf Coast of Mexico as a Marijuana substitute (which is NOT what we offer this in any way!). The natives report that it has been used both as an enhancer for other herbs, as well as a tobacco substitute and is similar to the way Wild Dagga has been reportedly used in Africa. Seeds of the Baybean plant have been found in royal grave sites in the Yucatan and Peru dating from 300 B.C. to A.D. 900.
